Why should you choose Li-Ion batteries for HBC RADIOMATIC's remote controls

WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE LI-ION BATTERIES FOR HBC RADIOMATIC’s REMOTE CONTROLS?

Li-ion (lithium ion) technology batteries are nowadays one of the most common type of batteries that are used in various electronic and electrical applications (mobile phones, controls, transmitters, etc.). They are rechargeable and some of their special features are: their very fast charging times, their large capacity and the lack of the phenomenon of "battery memory" (which is found in Nickel-Cadmium batteries, where there is a decrease in their capacity with time due to improper charging).

FEATURES AND possibilities OFFERED BY LI-ION BATTERIES

The German manufacturer HBC-radiomatic has Li-ion technology batteries in its range of products. Some of their main features are their light weight and very high durability. But the special technical features do not end there.

The capacity of the battery (theoretical amount of electricity that can be stored) and its charge (actual amount of electricity that will be stored) depend on the age of the battery and the ambient temperature. At temperatures lower than -20∘C but also higher than + 70∘C the available battery capacity will be lower.

Li-ion technology batteries for HBC-radiomatic controllers use "charge cycles". A charge cycle occurs when the battery reaches 100% of its rated capacity after recharging. As with our mobile phones, this cycle does not have to be done exclusively with a battery charging process but it can be done in more stages. Full use of the battery will mean the completion of its full operating cycle even if in the meantime it is charged!

For example: The user uses 65% of the full capacity of the battery on one day and then recharges it to 100%. The next day the same user makes use of 35% of the battery capacity. So now a cycle of use (discharge) of the battery has taken place, since 65% + 35% = 100%!

When used properly, a Li-ion battery can reach up to 500 full charge cycles per user. But even then it can be used with a very small decrease in its total capacity!

SUITABLE ACTIONS FOR CHARGING AND STORING LITHIUM BATTERIES

Some things to keep in mind when charging and storing Li-ion batteries for HBC-radiomatic controls are:

  • To charge them only with the original charger from HBC-radiomatic.
  • To make sure that the desired charging temperature is between 0∘C - 45∘ C
  • To always charge the batteries to 100% of their capacity before using it for the first time. This ensures 100% of the nominal capacity available for use.
  • To avoid overheating, remove protective housings from devices with built-in batteries.
  • When storing them, batteries should ideally have 30-50% of their capacity available. An empty battery with a charge of 1 hour can reach these levels.
  • Caution: Li-ion batteries "lose" their rated capacity when stored for too long without being used. For this they should be charged at intervals not exceeding 3 months!

Following all the above we are sure that you will have the optimal performance of HBC-radiomatic batteries. The company CHR. BOZNOS & SON, official representative of the manufacturer in Greece, is at your disposal for any general or technical question you have. Batteries and wireless remote control systems of HBC-radiomatic are available either from our stock or in very flexible delivery times. Do not hesitate to contact us.
