PHASE OUT OF DRS AND DRE ELECTRIC MOTORS
The new EU regulation 2019/1781 will be applied from 1 July 2021 and become mandatory for simple high-efficiency and low-consumption electric motors to have the CE mark. According to this regulation all motors with power from 0.12kW up to 0.55kW must have efficiency class IE2 (High Efficiency) and motors from 0.75kW up to 1000kW must have efficiency class IE3 (Premium Efficiency).
SEW-EURODRIVE is offering electric motors with energy class IE3 Premium Efficiency in order to supply the market with the power range from 0.12kW up to 0.55kW at the same price as the corresponding energy class IE2 High Efficiency.
Following the new European Directive, SEW has set March 30, 2021, as the last ordering day for DRS electric motors - energy class IE1 Standard Efficiency and DRE-energy class IE2 High Efficiency.
PRICE INCREASE: The discontinuation of production of DRS, DRE electric motors and their spare parts will result in a 35% increase in their prices as of October 1, 2020.
SERVICE: After 01.04.2021 where above mentioned motors are completely removed from the production line, the possibility for inspection and repair of these materials in Germany will remain available.
SPARE PARTS: It will be possible to purchase the spare parts of the discontinued electric motors for a period of 10 years. For the electronic parts of the electric motors (encoder) the corresponding period will be 5 years (with the price increase mentioned above).
